When I first designed the current version of the IAN website, it was with the idea that it would be a sort of nerd blog for nerd news. This was well before it was an audio podcast and years before we revived the podcast as a video podcast.
The site has gone under disrepair and it doesn't make for a good video-centric website. So...I'm going to take the website behind the shed and put a bullet in it's head.
I've decided I'm going to do more than just
update the look of the site, I'm going to completely remove the guts.
This part is more technical, but currently I run the website on a CMS system called Nucleus CMS. It has some features I really like, but it feels a bit old and stale now. Recently WordPress 3 was released and I'm pretty interested in what features it brings with it. So, I think I'm going to use that now, instead.
So the site's being updated soon...but we'll still be producing episodes. It shouldn't effect the show as a whole.
On this week's rockin' episode of I Am Nerd, Walker and Ed discuss Walker's Geek Challenge: listening to pop music. Find out if he grows an appreciation of the genre or remains outside the mainstream. Then Andy introduces his new segment: "Dear Internet." Also, I think Andy said some things about your mom.
